Child Advanced Program 4 Months
For a child with complex health issues or behaviors, requiring extra attention to his or her food plan.
Do you have a child with a medical diagnosis which requires extra attention to his or her food plan? Does your child have special dietary concerns or food allergies? Has someone told you you that your child is not at a healthy weight? Maybe a picky eater is getting you down?
When life throws you a curveball
Sometimes things don’t go as we planned. Despite our best efforts to raise healthy, happy kids, problems can and do arise. That is one of the hardest parts about being a parent. When our kids have a problem, we definitely want to fix it for them.
I know, because I have been in those situations with my own kids. In our family, we call those challenges “curveballs” because they can literally spin you round and round in search of answers.
And, I know that a nutritional therapy plan for kids is a wonderful (if not the perfect!) route to healing, thriving and growing into the best version of their awesome kid-selves!
I built my nutrition practice around the belief that properly nourishing growing children is one of the most crucial steps in raising a healthy family. The food-related decisions you make now can help to establish healthy eating patterns, normal relationships with food, and influence long-term health for your children.
Finding the root cause
Maybe right now, you are in the thick of a challenging situation with your child, such as a medical condition, or a child who won’t eat properly. There can be many reasons for these complexities, but I have found that intestinal permeability (leaky gut) in children can be one of the root causes of ill health or poor feeding.
This plan is suitable for all children ages 12 months through 16 years old, with complex health issues, a history of illness, growth and development challenges, or eating behaviors that need to be rewired.
This program helps you navigate - with mindfulness - a healthy solution for feeding your child in a family with any of the following scenarios:
- Ensuring your child is nourished and satisfied after eating.
- Raising a healthy eater who lives in a healthy body and has a healthy relationship with food.
- Supporting an adolescent who is trying out vegetarianism, or turning into an athlete, requiring additional guidance on food selection.
- Figuring out complex kiddos with extreme pickiness.
- Solving the puzzle of chronic tummy problems, skin issues, growth and/or weight issues, chronic colds and respiratory problems, food sensitivities and any unhealthful behavioral eating that may arise from similar medical conditions.
- Assessing nutrient deficiencies due to dietary challenges and addressing those deficiencies through food and supplements where necessary.
Note: The Child Advanced Program is not a program for a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, pediatric cancer or with a clinical eating disorder. If you need a referral for an excellent provider in those categories, I can help with that.
When to Start
When the challenges of raising a healthy child have thrown you a curveball! When your pediatrician or family doctor recommends it’s time to look more closely at your child’s diet for health reasons. When you have tried other avenues with little or no success and need a reboot - it’s time to start the Child Advanced Program. I am here to help.
This is a 4 month program to ensure we create the most gentle, loving, supportive and correct eating plan for your child.
Child Advanced Program (4 month plan) includes:
New Client Intake Session/Individual + Customized Plan
This is a 75-minute initial intake session for an minor (child) who will be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Utilizing existing labs, medical history paperwork, goal setting documents, action plan exercises, we will come away with knowing the exact direction we want to go for a customized nutrition program to boost your child’s health and vitality.
Nutrition Sessions - four 60-minute follow ups
These sessions helps us stay focused on the program, review additional details when they arise, prepare a personalized supplement regimen and implement the customized nutrition program in a meaningful, sustainable way.
*Food Inflammation Test (FIT) - one test
Inflammation from food reactions shows up in kiddos in a variety of ways, including digestive, skin, sleep, behavioral, malnutrition and immune system disorders.
So, I use this very helpful test which employs unique methods to detect both IgG antibodies and complement antigens to determine your child’s reactivity to 132 foods, colorings and additives.
The IgG and antigen methods yield more complete profiles of the various foods that may cause food sensitivities. The FIT test is the most sensitive food inflammation test available.
The information we glean from this test helps us assess your child’s gut and immune health and can steer us in the right direction for making concrete and effective changes to his or her nutrition plan.
Even children with few complaints or symptoms benefit by our understanding what level of support is needed to enhance their health and vitality through foods. Simple pin-prick sample collection makes this an easy and effective test for all ages.
*ONE (Optimal Nutritional Evaluation) FMV™ - one test
The ONE FMV provides a thorough analysis of key nutritional biomarkers in one convenient urine collection.
Requiring only a first morning void (FMV) urine collection (which make this test perfect when administering for those who may be timid about blood collection), the ONE FMV nutritional test is a convenient and kid-friendly way to assess the functional need for antioxidants, B-vitamins, minerals, digestive support, and amino acids.
Insights gained from the ONE FMV nutritional test allow me to target nutritional therapies to the precise needs of your child. Studies suggest that even a balanced diet may not provide all essential nutrients. The ONE FMV is designed to assist in the identification and management of nutritional deficiencies that may be the root cause of complex chronic conditions.
I have ordered this test for my own children in an effort to better understand their unique nutritional needs. And, families I have worked with over many years have stated that this particular test was a "game changer" when getting to the root of nutritional concerns they had for their child.
*Lab tests are paid for separately via the Evexia lab portal at the time of your New Client Intake Session. Please plan for these lab test costs as part of your overall nutrition program investment. Unless otherwise discussed at the time of your initial free phone consultation (because for some specific reason they are contraindicated), these lab tests are required as part of every customized nutrition program. Lab tests are necessary for your success - "test, don't guess"!
